About Me: I am a longtime employee at Langara College, and a firm believer in lifelong learning! As the Charter President of Langara Toastmasters Club, I want to welcome you to visit our club and encourage you to join in the fun as we practice our public speaking skills and learn leadership skills for personal and professional growth. I have always lived in BC. Born on the mainland but grew up on Vancouver Island. I finished my post-secondary education at UBC in the mid 90's, raised a family, enjoy travelling abroad, and exploring our beautiful province by car. My favourite hobby is knitting and other fibre arts--mostly knitting. My other passion is wine--I earned my WSET Level 1 in Wines & Spirits last year, and I have a new appreciation for whisk(e)y. Hope to see you soon at Langara Toastmasters Club!

About Me: As a committed lifelong learner, I am constantly looking for opportunities of personal/professional growth. The Langara Toastmasters club offers a great opportunity for not only attaining communications and leadership skills, but is a good way to offer and receive consistent feedback to help nurture growth in others, as well as myself.

About Me: My, uh, name, is, ummm.... Melia.  And, I, um..ah... joined Toastmasters to get rid of my, ah, filler words.  And I must say, it's working pretty well so far!  Although I still use some filler words, I catch myself more often, and am more comfortable pausing as I think of my next word, instead of filling up the space.  What I love about Toastmasters is how organized it is, and that everyone has a role.  There really is something for everyone here, and it's a great way to safely practice my public speaking and evaluation skills.  Come join us, we'd love to meet you!

About Me: I joined Toastmaster Club when I was a LEAP 4 student and I found out that this is a good place for practicing English as well as gaining confidence in public speaking. As attending this club as much as I can, I gain more confidence in not only speaking English but also standing in front of people. What I really like about Toastmaster is that members in this club are so nice! They don't judge me as a second language learner but always encourage me to do better. In here we also can learn about the evaluation techniques, leadership skills and how to organize the speech. And on top of everything, it's very FUN. Come and join us. We are always here to support each other.
